A whimsical Budir Black Church Elopement With Icelandic Horses

Búðakirkja, hotel Búðir, black sand beach, horses, waterfall, lava field

When Madison and Stefan first reached out, a lot was already set in motion. They had visited Iceland a year prior, had their engagement session on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and were absolutely set on returning to say ‘I do’ in the same breathtaking place.
But what really made my heart skip a beat was Madison’s idea to include Icelandic horses in their day. As an equestrian, she knew from the start that these incredible creatures just had to be a part of their elopement – and I, as a life long horse admirer, could not be happier.
With the midday ceremony planned at Búðakirkja, followed by a visit to a local horse farm, we quickly filled the rest of the day with some of our favorite locations on the peninsula.

Madison told me it poured on their engagement day, Perhaps, the weather gods listened in, and decided to make it up to them. We enjoyed the most beautiful warm summer day one could ever dream of.
